As a BMW owner id like to confirm the no signalling stereotype, one of my indicators was actually disabled when I bought the car. However i did fix and use them.

The turn signals were disabled from the factory already, not quite cheap with 125.98 Deutsche Mark in the 1998 BMW 3 Series catalogue.

True story:
My flasher relay went out in my e28 once. I was a young cookie monster at the time and ran a power wire from the battery through the door jam on a fuselink and found some random ground on the main harness.
Basically my turn signals worked again....... but every time I used them my door locks would go up and down, up and down LOL!!!!!!

Convincing enough for me.
In real life, you encounter all types of people, and some of them really make you wonder if they actually mean what they say.
